DENIAL OF RIGHTS OF BACKWARD CLASSES SHOULD BE PROTESTED:K.N.M.

CALICUT:K.N.M. said that planned attempts are being taken to snatch away the constitutional reservations of backward classes.K.N.M. state educational rights protection conference held at Calicut declared that measures should be taken to jointly protest the denial of rights of the backward classes.

The rumors that backward communities including the Muslims are acquiring undeserved positions are but part of the plot to take away the existing reservations of the community.K.N.M. welcomed the S.N.D.P”s call to unite for the rights of the backward classes.At the same time the S.N.D.P. should recognize that by the claims of Hindu unity what the high classes aim is to suppress the struggle for rights of the backward class Hindus including the Ezhavas.K.N.M. requested that the political leadership should unite for the conservation of backward reservations.

The moves to take away the reservations of the Muslim community ,when the situation remains that that in employment and educational sectors the community has not yet gained enough representation in proportion to the population,must be protested at any cost.

In educational matters the states Muslim community remains clearly backward.A bulk part o fthe aided educational sector remains in the hold of a minority population of high class communities.We find that in such educational institutions the Muslim students are often denied admissions.Such injustice should not prevail.Students of backward communities including Muslims should be granted reservations in aided institutions and more aided schools and colleges should be sanctioned to the Muslim community.
